Context
Créations de la Seine is a family-owned art supply and stationery store in Paris. Their goal is to create an e-commerce website that showcases their unique products to a broader audience, becoming the go-to destination for art supplies.
Challenge
The website should preserve the traditional charm of Creations de la Seine, foster community engagement, offer exclusive products, commit to sustainability, and ensure technical excellence.
Secondary Research
In our secondary research, we analyzed industry trends and consumer behavior within the art supply and stationery market. We found a growing demand for high-quality, unique products that offer a personalized shopping experience, particularly among artists, creatives, and stationery enthusiasts. The shift towards e-commerce has increased the importance of visually rich, user-friendly websites that provide immersive product experiences and clear, detailed information. Additionally, there is a significant interest in sustainable and locally-sourced products, reflecting broader consumer trends towards eco-conscious shopping.
Market Research
Given the business goals of Créations de la Seine, the list of competitors should focus on those who have a strong presence in Paris, offer a robust online community, collaborate with local artists, and are committed to sustainability.

This information helped us to position Créations de la Seine. The positioning map visually illustrates how different brands are perceived in the market based on two key dimensions: product-focused versus experience-focused, and long-lasting versus practical short-term use.
In this map, the horizontal axis distinguishes between brands that emphasize tangible product features (product-focused) and those that prioritize customer experience and emotional engagement (experience-focused). The vertical axis separates brands that offer durable, long-lasting products from those designed for immediate, practical use.

Créations de la Seine is positioned in the quadrant that emphasizes experience-focused and practical short-term use, indicating a strong emphasis on customer experience and products designed for immediate needs.
